AG Jeff Landry Hopeful
Supreme Court Will Uphold the Rule of Law & Make Our Community Safer
BATON ROUGE, LA - Tomorrow morning, the United States
Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in United States v Texas & Louisiana - a major case involving the Biden Administration's
refusal to deport criminal aliens.
"This case is about public safety; the law is
clear, and the President should follow it," said Attorney General Jeff
Landry. "The Biden Administration does not get to pick and choose which
dangerous criminal aliens they want to deport."
As noted by Louisiana Solicitor General Liz Murrill in USA Today, this
disastrous policy has significant costs to the American taxpayers. "We do
not have a money tree in the backyard, nor can we print money," Murrill
said. "Any argument that our position on illegal immigration is somehow in
conflict with a policy of encouraging growth in our states is falsely equating
two things that are wildly dissimilar."
Both the Southern District Court of Texas and the U.S. Court
of Appeals for the 5th Circuit have ruled in Attorney General Landry's favor
earlier this year.
